Video #8 Medium Madness

Some of you asked for some instruction on how to use the different mediums on the market. What is a medium?
An online definition states:

(noun) – In art, “medium” refers to the substance the artist uses to create his or her artwork. For example, the medium Michelangelo used to create David was marble, Calder’s stabiles employ painted steel plates and Duchamp’s infamous Fountain had porcelain as its medium.

So, really…it’s anything you use to create art. This video will show you the different mediums that you can pick up at your art supply stores. Most are by Golden and Liquitex and can be found at places like Michael’s and AC Moore. You can pick them up at art stores like Utrecht and Dick Blick–they also have online stores with great prices and shipping.

Video #6 BLUE EYES Scrapbook Page

I have created a ton of layouts over the last 15 years but this one is in my TOP 10 favorites! It is a layout of my beautiful niece, Reghan. If you follow my blog or my Facebook page, you know she is one of my favorite scrapbooking “subjects”. She is gorgeous, super photogenic and one of the loves of my life.

This page was inspired by a layout that I saw on Pinterest. I love the painty techniques that the artist used and was inspired to put my own twist on the page. So, here she is—Beautiful BLUE EYES!

Hello and welcome to my first ever online class!
Here, you will find the videos, links and information for this class. It is password protected and I would appreciate that you do not share the password with others.
First off, thank you! I am always so excited and humbled about the support that I receive from scrappers and artists all over the world. Doing a class in this type of forum has always been a dream for me and now one that has come true.

Each Monday and Thursday you will find a new video on this page. Each video will be packed with tips, tricks and techniques for using mixed media to make scrapbooking personal and fun. I have spent a ton of time playing around and learning ways to use the different products on the market. Don’t worry, you don’t have to go out and spend a ton of cash. You can use things from your already existing stash and if you see something new that you like, add it in. I will provide as many links as I can from my favorite online stores and resources so you don’t have to go searching around for the things that tickle your fancy. If you are new to this artsy world, no worries…take baby steps to learning. If you see me using something in a video, my advice is to ALSO google that tool or technique. Different artists come up with new and exciting tips all the time!

I am hoping to also add some additional videos as I am inspired during this month. They will also be packed with inspiration for your projects. As I add those videos, I will keep you updated in our private Facebook page. Again, please do not share that page with others. BUT, PLEASE share the class promo link if you are loving it!

Reminder to sign up for our private Facebook page VINTAGE SCRAPPIN’ MIXED MEDIA CLASS if you haven’t already done that. Hoping we can get lots of pictures, inspiration and chatter on that site!
