Do you struggle with masculine layouts and cards? So many of the beautiful scrappy items on the market are very feminine, right? I love flowers, sparkles and butterflies and get excited to cut the papers, spray the shimmery mists and add the bling. When I scrap pics of my amazing hubby, Marty, I have to think a little outside of my comfort zone. I am loving the Flying Unicorn Kit of the Month and wanted to push myself to use it for a layout of my sweet love. The papers had several sheets covered in pinks and girly designs. There were others that had beautiful blues, greens & creams. I guess it’s about looking at your supplies through a different “lens” to make them work for your art. Even the pink papers can be altered with a few sprays of Glimmer Mist or brush strokes of paint.
How about those awesome letters for the title? I recently bought a Pink Paislee Warehouse grab bag box. I haven’t always had the best of luck when I bought grab bags in the past. BUT-this was AWESOME! I got well over $200 worth of current, useable, FAB goodies for about $50! I think I got more than 50 bucks just in paper. The letters came in the box and I altered the heck out of them. Glimmer Mist, tearing and Crackle Accents made the perfect title for this page.
I picked out some very neutral flowers and embellishments for the layout. See that fabric trim-that is muslin from the KOM which I sprayed with Glimmer Mist. Once it was dry, I sewed it to the layout! So, think outside the box and don’t be afraid to use your stash for manly layouts & cards.
