Flowery, Funky IMAGINE Tag

This tag is a little different for me. Well, it’s not the techniques that are different but certainly the color choices. I have been gravitating more & more to orange lately. I am not sure what that’s about. My guess it that it’s because peach is the new “hot” color for Spring & Summer. Living in NYC, I am exposed to what is hot and “right now” all the time. It is so easy to be inspired by everything that is happening in the city, including fashion and colors. So, look at me…I am in style in  my crafty color choices. (It’s a stretch, I know!)

This tag was made on a piece of canvas paper. I was going head over heels when I found a pad of canvas paper at AC Moore. I told one of my friends who basically told me that they always have that. At least for a tiny moment, I thought I made a brand new discovery. I made the background by using a stencil from Crafter’s Workshop and using tons of Glimmer Mist! I loved the look of the layers the colors and using different parts of the stencil on top of other parts.

The flowers were in my stash and I altered them with Glimmer Mist and Stickles! The trim is one of my new favs from Stampin’ Up! It is a mini pom pom trim that comes in three different colors…love it!

Let’s talk about the IMAGINE stamp! I love the word IMAGINE and always have. It’s my most inspirational word. I have it posted on a large wall hanging in my art studio. It always held a ton of significance for me. When my father passed away at the end of November, it became an even more powerful word. So powerful that I sometimes struggled when I saw it. My Dad and I shared an extreme love of The Beatles and the song IMAGINE always makes me think of him. We spent time at the Imagine Memorial in Central Park & I have a pendant that I wear of that memorial-it gives me strength when I need it. Let’s bring it back to the stamp–I was in Connecticut recently with some of my best gal pals on a artsy getaway. We went to a stamp store where the store owner threw an extra stamp into each of our bags as a thank you. My friends all got different words like treasure, friendship, smile, etc. I reached into my bag and pulled out the word IMAGINE…
