Look at how warm & sunny it was in that picture. AH…memories!
I created this layout using only products from Stampin’ Up! It was actually a card kit but I pushed myself outside of what was expected of this kit and created 8 layouts. I shared a few of them already and this is yet another from the “collection”. That sounds so artsy & official, doesn’t it?!
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy it!
How do you push yourself out of your creative comfort zone? I would LOVE to hear from you in the comments…
Today I am sharing another 12X12 layout using the Cottage Greeting Card Kit from Stampin’ Up! I was given this kit to create projects for a training session. The challenge was to use the kit and only current Stampin’ Up! products which I did successfully. I grabbed the new products that I just purchased and got to creating. I love the fresh, bright look of these layouts and can’t wait to share more of them with you.
Let’s take a break today from the holiday cards to admire the little beauty on this scrapbook layout. This is my niece Elise-I LOVE scrapbooking pictures of her. She is so energetic and loves life which shows in the pictures that I take of her.
This layout was created with a card making kit from Stampin’ Up! I loved challenging myself to use the kit (that was meant for cards) to make several layouts. You will see more of them in the next few weeks of blog posts. I loved adding layers and my mixed media style to the projects. I hope you enjoy checking them out and find inspiration in how I thought ‘outside the box’.
***How do you use supplies in ways that they weren’t intended?
Check out my handsome husband before one of his gigs this Summer. We love taking a few moments to take in the scenes and snapping a few pictures. I love these pictures of Marty being Marty-happy and a little silly. This is another layout that I created using a few current Stampin’ Up! goodies and the amazing Cottage Greetings Card Kit. Hope you enjoy it!
GRAB THE SUPPLIES THAT I USED ON THIS SCRAPBOOK PAGE:
A few days ago I shared a layout that I made using the Cottage Greetings Card Kit. I was able to make eight layouts with that kit by adding a few Stampin’ Up! extras to the projects. Today, I hope you enjoy the second layout of that set. I loved challenging myself to use the products from the kit to make fresh, creative pages. I would LOVE to hear from you in the comment section of my blog. Share some love!
Stampin’ Up! has the most amazing kits to make your crafting fun and relaxing. Sometimes I sit down and stare at a blank page with no clue where to start. Don’t we all do that? These kits help to take away that problem and get the creativity flowing right away.
Today I am featuring the Cottage Greetings Card Kit. BUT…I didn’t use it for card making at all. Actually, I had a blast creating EIGHT SCRAPBOOK PAGES with this kit. I added a few extras from my Stampin’ Up! stash like birds, sequin trim, doilies, Project Life Cards and Designer Series Paper but most of what you see is from the card kit.
I could not wait to feature these gorgeous pictures of two of my beautiful nieces from the 4th of July. They were loving playing outside in the yard and enjoying the warm weather. I used the papers & wood pieces from the card kit to make this fun banner and couldn’t resist sewing it onto the page.
Here is a video of what is found in the Cottage Greetings Kit:
If you are like me, you enjoy watching makeup videos on youtube. One of the fun things that “makeup gurus” like to do is challenge themselves to use up their products. I know many people in our scrapbooking world like to do similar challenges where we try to use up the awesome things from our stash. One of the fun current video challenges in the makeup world is called Use 4 By July 4th. It is basically a way to pick out 4 products and use them up by the 4th of July. I decided it would be fun to do the same thing with my scrapbooking products. Check out the video and join the fun!
If you are anything like me, you have a scrap room that could be mistaken for a mini Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. TONS of great stuff…yet, you drool over the newest & freshest products that come out in the scrapbooking market. I had the realization at the beginning of 2015 that I have drawers, baskets and closets of beautiful things to use in my scrapbooking, Project Life & art journaling. I mean, I knew I had all of those great things. I guess it hit me that I should be USING and enjoying those things that I bought over the years. I must have really liked (or loved) them when I bought them so it’s time to give the “stuff” life in my projects. The scary part is that I started scrapbooking in 1998 AND have some goodies that date back 10 years+. Some of those things may appear a little dated but there is a remedy for that. I have found that I can incorporate those older items and spice them up a little with some mixed media techniques. Honestly, a lot of those older items will look new and fresh again when they are combined with new things.
As I shuffle through those baskets in my scrap room, I get lost looking at the goodies in them. Sometimes I have a hard time picking out what to use because I enjoy looking at the stuff too much. I thought it would be fun to have my love pick out 10 random items from this wonderful basket of embellishments that lives in my room. He has much more success than I do reaching in and grabbing things because he doesn’t get in a trance because of the glitter and pretty colors! Each month, I will have him grab 10 new items for me to use on my projects. My hope it to do a video each month and share the “challenge goodies” with you.
Here is the video for February! I hope you enjoy it and take a few minutes to dig products out of your stash to use on your projects. Let’s make a dent in that ever-growing stash for 2015.
Here is a quick video sharing some of the really fun goodies from Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration. I picked up one stamp set that I am enjoying. My was really excited about the little set of Project Life cards. They are really cute and have useful designs to them. What I loved most about the set is that Rich Razzleberry is a featured color. It isn’t often that you see purple in a Project Life! (love love love)
Ah, Summer! The relaxation, the time with family. The chance to go to Pennsylvania whenever I want. These pages are from the beginning of July. I headed to PA for about 6 days with my mom, sisters and “littles”. Mom and I spent time with my nieces & nephews at Christmas Pines Campground. (sounds like a dream right now) Most of the pictures from those 6 days are featured on other layouts-these are pretty much before & after the time with the kids.
It has been so long since I created these that I was trying to remember what I used for the cards. Looking closely, I used lots of paper scraps. I love how I can use little bits & pieces of paper (& embellishments) to really bring together my layouts. For a little while, I was really into making my own kits using my stash. I joined this great Facebook Group SCRAP STASH KIT CLUB which inspired me to create some kits instead of shopping for new things. To add to that, I vowed in 2015 to not buy new crafty stuff unless it is something that I just can’t live without for some reason. I told my hubby that I need to spend time using the things that I already have. I bought them because I LOVE the goodies, now they need life and need to get onto a project. Stay tuned as I use up my stash in 2015. Wait?! Use up? No way I can use it up but I can certainly make a dent in my stash.
