Yep, here is another oldie but goodie post…
These pictures were taken back in the Fall when we had the first event of the Gotham City Paper & Paint at our apartment. We were renting a space to get the group moving along and decided it was time to bring it home. This allows us more time, a chance for a spread of snacks and drinks and my art studio packed with supplies. Hope you enjoy this fun flashback!
Just a quick share today of some holiday cards that we worked on back in July! Remember when it was warm & Christmas seemed SOOOO far away. Well, now we are looking forward to Summer (at least I am) and the holidays are just memories.
I hope you find some inspiration today in these cards. I would LOVE to have you join the Gotham City Paper & Paint Meetup Group and join the fun. We meet several times a month and create tons of different projects-all levels of artists are MORE than welcome.
I LOVE Embossing! There are so many techniques that you can do with some embossing powder, VersaMark Ink Pad and a heat gun (or a blower as some of the gals in the meetup call it)…
This class was from the Summer or at least early in the school year. Yes, I am trying to get better at blogging. If you really want to keep up with my artsy adventures, check out my Art Facebook Page. There are lots of great things going on there.
If you are interested in meeting new creative people and having a blast, join the GOTHAM CITY PAPER & PAINT MEETUP GROUP! We are a pretty sweet group of gals from beginner artists to those more advanced. (a’hem lol) We make cards, canvases, scrapbooks and even have a monthly Art Journaling Club. I have found my tribe & couldn’t be happier-won’t you join us?
I am so thrilled that I started the Gotham City Paper & Paint Meetup Group. I have met so many amazing people & have had fabulous creative opportunities. This event was such a fun night where we made holiday cards and tags at the Sony Building in New York City. Hope you can join us!
Fa-la-la-la-la…here are more holiday cards. I am usually drawn to colors that are “non-traditional” for Christmas. The first more “traditional” card was a great excuse to use that beautiful piece of scrapbook paper. I love cutting into paper-I know I am not the norm in that way. I hear so many crafters saying that they don’t want to cut into pretty paper but I believe in giving our supplies the lives they deserve. I digress.
The last three cards are bright, funky colors and I have to admit that I love them. They are very much my style. If you read yesterday’s post you know that these beauties never made it into the mail. So pretty. I regret not sending them out. Next year…
I feel like I start every blog post with an apology for neglecting my blog. Well, this time I will just say that I am going to try to do better with blogging in 2016. (forgive me)
These are holidays cards that we created at a meetup event with Gotham City Paper & Paint. If you live in or around NYC, we would love to have you join us. It has been fun making holiday cards-we met once a month leading up to the holiday season and made cards that were one-of-a-kind and perfect to mail out. I have to admit…I MADE the cards but didn’t actually mail them. Maybe next year.
Did you create cards for the holidays? I would love to see them! You can join us at the Gothamettes Facebook Group & post your pictures there.
I love any opportunity to “marry” mixed media techniques with card making. I recently taught a watercolor card class with the GOTHAM CITY PAPER & PAINT GROUP. I loved creating cards that would push the amazing artists outside of their comfort zones a bit. We loves the different types of paints but we especially enjoyed the PEERLESS WATERCOLORS.
I am in LOVE with this card kit! I love that the cards have a mixed media feel to them without having to do the techniques. Personally I love throwing paint and spray inks around but I know that isn’t for everyone. Check out these process videos and grab your own Watercolor Wishes Kit to create your own cards.

These cards are some of my most favorite creations that I have ever made. They include everything that I LOVE-butterflies, soft colors and bling! The Watercolor Wings stamp set is brand new from Stampin’ Up! and is OH SO BEAUTIFUL! The biggest challenge and the most exciting part is finding color combos that look cute on the butterflies. I think it is fun to experiment with colors to see what works and what doesn’t.
The Butterfly dies for the Big Shot are A-MAZING! I have a new addiction of cutting out excessive amounts of these butterflies. I cut what I need for classes and can’t stop. I have been using them on scrapbook pages, art journaling creations and even more cards. I hope you love these cards & will grab some of the beautiful products that Stampin’ Up! has to offer!
