What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday? WOYWWJune 13th, 2012 by Heidi Bound received 5 Comments »
About a month or so ago I entered into this world of art journaling. I got a little taste of it at the Diana Trout class that I took with some of my artsy friends. I liked it, it was fun. BUT, then my friend Michele and I took a class with Marah Johnson and that was it. There was a fire lit under me! The bad news is that for weeks & weeks I had no desire to craft. I wasn’t excited by it for quite some time. I wasn’t sure what was going on. The lights in my art studio were off. The good news is that I had these two classes and I figured out that I needed to play around with something new…something fresh. My new addiction for all things mixed media was BORN!
With this excitement, I began following some great mixed media blogs and watched a ton of videos. I even signed up for an online class with Joanne Sharpe (more on that later). I signed up for an IN PERSON class with Dyan Reaveley—yep, I get to not only meet her but learn from her! I also started a challenge called An Index Card A Day (and again…more on that later). I stumbled upon a blog called Stamping Ground where every Wednesday they take a picture of their artsy space and reflect on it. Now, I can’t promise I will be consistent every Wednesday but at least for today you get a peek at my creative “mess”.
On my table, I have oodles of artsy supplies. Some things I have had forever and didn’t really touch in my days of cards and scrapbooking. Now that I can’t wait to play around and get ink on my hands…things needed to be dusted off and given new life. Hence, the craziness on my table. Now, you might be wondering about my art journal…you haven’t seen really any of what I have been doing unless of course you follow me on Facebook. I have given a few peeks at my work from time-to-time and will share more soon. So, there you have it…my workspace which I have to clean up because Corris & Kahena (two of my pals) are coming over tomorrow to create and at this moment…we would have to sit on the floor…not happening!
